Thank
you

In
this
tutorial
I
will
show
you
how
to
use
the
Inner
Bevel
to
give
the
appearance
of
a
cutout.
It's
a
very
quick
and
simple
tutorial
where
you
will
be
doing
a
lot
of
toggling
on
your
color
palette
and
using
a
lot
of
borders,
but
the
end
result
has
people
thinking
you
spent
hours
creating.
We
will
be
using
only
PSP
effects
for
this
tutorial.
My
tutorials
are
only
guidelines
to
help
you
accomplish
a
certain
creation.
Please
feel
free
to
be
inventive
and
take
whatever
liberties
you
would
like.
I
encourage
each
of
you
to
do
your
"own
thing"
and
make
your
creation
yours!
Your
finished
creation
is
yours
to
do
with
as
you
please.
Screenshots
are
resized
and
compressed
for
faster
loading.
Don't
forget
to
SAVE
your
work
often.
This
tutorial
is
written
in
and
for
PSP
Version
7.04
and
assumes
you
have
a
working
knowledge
of
PSP
at
a
beginners
level.
I
am
sure
this
can
easily
be
done
in
Version
6
with
a
few
adjustments
in
paths
but
I
have
only
used
Version
7
so
I
can't
make
promises

FOR
THIS
TUTORIAL
YOU
WILL
NEED:
JASC's
PSP
(30
day
free
trial)-
You
can
get
it
HERE
A
graphic
-
I
used
a
picture
that
I
took
of
one
of
the
cats
we
have
rescued.
His
name
is
Handsome
and
is
a
beautiful
Himalayan.
I
have
the
copyright
photograph
below
if
you
would
like
to
use
the
same
graphic.
Please
right
click
on
the
graphic
and
download
to
your
computer.

Step
1:
Open
your
graphic
in
PSP
and
make
a
copy
of
it
(Shift+D).
The
main
reason
for
making
a
copy
is
in
case
I
want
to
use
the
image
again
and
forget
to
change
the
name
when
I
save
*S*
You
can
close
out
your
original
graphic.
Remember
to
save
often.
Step
2:
Set
your
background
color
to
black
and
your
foreground
color
to
a
complementary
color
from
your
graphic.
I
used
#768C84.
Go
to
Image-->Add
Borders.
Make
sure
symmetric
is
check
and
add
a
border
of
3.
You
now
have
a
small
black
border
around
your
image.
Step
3:
We
will
be
using
the
top
colors
panel
on
your
color
palette
to
toggle.
Click
the
double
arrows
and
your
foreground
and
background
change.
The
screenshot
below
shows
the
black
background
on
the
right
and
the
color
you
chose
for
your
frame
on
the
left.
When
you
press
the
double
arrows
your
foreground
and
background
colors
reverse.

Step
4:
Go
to
Image-->Add
Borders
(from
here
on
out
I
will
instruct
you
to
add
a
border
and
the
size)
and
change
your
number
to
10.
Step
5:
Pick
up
your
Magic
Wand
and
click
on
your
colored
border.

Go
to
Effects-->3D-->Inner
Bevel
and
apply
the
following
settings:

This
is
how
my
first
inner
bevel/cutout
border
looks.

Step
6:
Toggle
your
color
palette
so
black
is
the
background
color.
Add
a
border
of
3.
Step
7:
Toggle
your
color
palette
to
your
color
is
the
background
color.
Add
a
border
of
10.
Step
8:
Toggle
your
color
palette
so
black
is
the
background
color.
Add
a
border
of
3.
Step
9:
Toggle
your
color
palette
to
your
color
is
the
background
color.
Add
a
border
of
10.
Select
your
border
with
your
Magic
Wand.
Go
to
Effects-->3D-->Inner
Bevel
and
apply
the
same
Inner
Bevel
as
before.
Step
10:
Do
NOT
toggle
your
color
palette.
Add
a
border
of
10.
Select
your
Border
with
your
Magic
Wand
and
apply
your
Inner
Bevel
again.
Step
11:
Toggle
your
color
palette
so
black
is
the
background
color.
Add
a
border
of
3.
Step
12:
Toggle
your
color
palette
to
your
color
is
the
background
color.
Add
a
border
of
15.
Step
13:
Select
your
border
with
your
Magic
Wand.
Go
to
Effects-->3D-->Inner
Bevel.
Change
the
Angle
to
315
and
hit
okay.
That
reversed
the
bevel
so
it
is
no
longer
a
cutout
*smiles*.
Step
14:
Depending
on
the
size
of
your
original
image
you
will
more
than
likely
need
to
resize
your
graphic
for
sending
in
for
a
group
lesson.
Go
to
Image-->Resize.
Resize
to
to
your
group's
specifications.
Most
groups
have
their
rules
at
no
longer
than
350
pixels
on
the
long
side.
Make
sure
all
layers
and
maintain
ratio
is
checked.

Step
15:
After
resizing
you
tend
to
lose
some
clarity.
Go
to
Effects-->Sharpen-->Unsharp
Mask
and
use
these
settings:

(Radius=2.00;
Strength=85;
Clipping=5)
You're
done.
Here
is
another
one
that
I
did.
This
time
I
used
a
photograph
of
Roxie,
the
mother
cat
of
our
4
kittens
that
we
have
been
taking
care
of
since
birth.

I
hope
you
have
enjoyed
this
tutorial
as
much
as
I
did
creating
it.
