This tutorial comes from a request from Julz in the Annex Cafe Newsgroup. After seeing my glass tiles that I offer for download, Julz asked if I could write a tutorial showing others how to make their own. It's a very easy to create Glass tiles, but if you have never done so, then I guess it isn't so easy LOL. Sometimes we do something so frequently in PSP, that we don't think about others not knowing how to achieve the same effect.

This tutorial does require using Eye Candy 4000 from Alienskin Software. This is a commercial filter, not a free one. I have tried it in Eye Candy 3, unfortunately that does not allow you to make it a seamless tile and the other free filters I have found, to make it seamless, doesn't do as good of a job. UPDATE: Stinker was able to use it in EyeCandy3. I will have include her settings below. Thank you SO much Stinker!

My tutorials are only guidelines to help you accomplish a certain creation. Please feel free to be inventive and take whatever liberties you would like. I encourage each of you to do your "own thing" and make your creation yours! Your finished creation is yours to do with as you please.

This tutorial is written in and for PSP Version 7.04 and assumes you have a working knowledge of PSP at a beginners level. I am sure this can easily be done in Version 6 with a few adjustments in paths but I have only used Version 7 so I can't make promises *S*

FOR THIS TUTORIAL YOU WILL NEED:
JASC's PSP (30 day free trial)- You can get it HERE
Eye Candy 4000 ~~ You can purchase it HERE
Eye Candy 3 ~~ You can the free version HERE ** Make sure you download the WIN version!**
Gradients ~~ You can find some awesome gradients on the Internet. I used Mah's Gradients, although you can find some other good ones by going to Google and typing in PSP Gradients in the search engine.

Step 1:
Open a new image 150x150, 16 million colors, transparent background. Set your foreground styles to Gradients . I set my gradients to Linear Style with angle and repeat at 0.

To see all of your gradients, click the down arrow next to your gradient. You will now have an entire list.

For this tutorial I am using Mah_Purple Stain.

Step 2:
Flood fill your image. Go to Effects-->Plugins-->Eye Candy 4000-->Jiggle and apply these settings: Movement type = Bubbles; Bubble Size = 4.43; Wrap=63.24; Twist=29 Make sure Seamless Tile is CHECKED. Click on the Random Seed button to get the effect you want - I used 172 for this one.

Click OK and save. This is what I now have.

Step 2A - EyeCandy3
Go to Effects-->Plugins-->Eye Candy 3--> Jiggle and use these settings: Bubble Size = 5; Wrap Around=63; Twist=29; Movement Type=Brownian Motion

Results:

That's it! Not too bad was it. I don't think I have EVER done a tutorial that was only 2 steps! You can also change the angle of your gradient to 90.

This is how mine looked at the 90 degree angle.

If you are totally new to PSP, I encourage you to review my Beginners Guide to PSP7 and learn how to set up folders for your gradients, tubes, plugins, etc. outside of PSP7. This tutorial also shows you how to point your PSP to find these folders so you can easily access them.

Experiment and have fun. That is what is so wonderful about PSP - play to your hearts content and you will be surprised at what you might come up with.

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial as much as I did creating it for you.
