You have decided
to give JASC's

This will be
an ongoing tutorial
to help you locate
new features
and where old
features are
now located.

This
tutorial is written
in and for PSP8
and assumes you
have a working
knowledge of
PSP.
YOU WILL
NEED:
JASC's
PSP8 (30 day
free trial) -
You can get it
HERE
So
many have asked,
"I can't
find...",
or "what
happened to the
retouch tools",
etc. so I
have a LOT of
screenshots of
the tools and
the menus in
order to help
you find things
a little easier.
Please
remember ~~ this
is NOT complete,
I am constantly
working on this
and updating!
Please REFRESH
your browser
(F5) to make
sure you don't
miss anything
new!

Your
tool
palette
now
has
a
variety
of
flyout's
where
you
will
find
a
lot
of
the
tools
from
PSP7
that
you
have
been
looking
for.
;-)
There
are
also
several
new
tools
in
the
Deform
Tools
and
a
new
Background
Eraser
with
your
regular
Eraser.
There
is
also
a
Warp
Brush
in
with
the
Paint
tools.
I
will
show
you
what
is
in
each
of
the
flyout's
below.
|
|
The
Pan
tool
was
previously
referred
to
as
the
Arrow.
The
flyout
includes
Pan
and
Zoom.
|
|
The
Deform
flyout
includes
the
Deformation
Tool
along
with
three
new
tools
~~
Straighten,
Perspective
Correction
and
Mesh
Warp.
Watch
for
some
tutorials
in
the
coming
days.
|
|
You
will
find
the
Freehand
Selection
and
Magic
Wand
in
the
Selections
flyout.
In
the
Freehand
Selections
tool
options
ribbon
you
will
find
a new
tool
called
Edge
Seeker.
|
|
The
dropper
flyout
has
your
Eye
Dropper
and
your
Color
Replacer
Tool.
|
|
The
Paint
flyout
includes
your
Paint
Brush,
Airbrush
and
a new
Warp
Brush.
The
warp
brush
is
great
for
creating
caricatures
and
liquid
effects.
|
|
You
will
find
the
Scratch
Remover
with
your
Clone
tool.
You
can
only
use
the
Scratch
Remover
on
a background
layer.
|
|
You
will
find
several
of
your
retouch
tools
on
the
tool
palette
next
to
the
Clone
tools.
|
|
The
remaining
retouch
tools
are
in
the
next
flyout.
|
|
The
Eraser
now
includes
a background
eraser
which
is
a wonderful
tool
for
the
tubers.
Please
see
my
tutorial
on
the
Background
Eraser
HERE.

MENUS
|
The
File
menu
is
pretty
much
the
same
as
it
is
in
PSP7.
The
new
script
feature
can
be
accessed
from
the
file
menu
or
from
the
script
tool
bar.
In
PSP7
your
most
recently
accessed
files
were
at
the
bottom
of
the
file
menu.
The
are
now
located
in
a
submenu
called
Recent
Files
If
you
have
any
custom
brushes
made
in
PSP7,
you
can
convert
them
to
PSP8
by
going
to
Import/Brushes.
|
|
The
edit
menu
is
very
much
as
it
was
in
PSP7.
|
|
The
view
menu
now
includes
a
palettes
submenu,
a
magnifier
and
the
docking
options.
|
|
There
are
a
lot
of
new
items
on
the
Image
menu,
that
were
previously
on
the
Colors
menu
in
PSP7.
This
is
where
you
will
find
Grey
Scale
:-),
along
with
your
color
palette
submenus,
decreasing
and
increasing
color
depth,
and
you
split
and
combine
channels.
|
|
99%
of
the
Effects
Menu
has
submenus.
I
will
show
you
the
different
submenus
below,
new
features
are
noted.
Remember
this
is
just
to
show
you
where
things
are
located
at
the
moment.
A
more
extensive
tutorial
will
be
forthcoming.
