SAVING PRESETS IN SINEDOTS2 |
|
There has been many questions as to how to save your settings in Sinedots II and being able to share them with your friends, without sharing ALL of your presets. This was NOT an easy thing for me to figure out and I can only thank Cathy of Cathy's Corner for helping me out. Sometimes we get a brain lock and something just doesn't make sense and then when we do get it figured out we wonder why couldn't we do this before. Please don't worry about yourself, it's something we ALL do *Smiles* We finally got ourselves programmed, with the original Sinedots filter, to execute that Assign Path icon to get the presets to show up. Now we have a new Sinedots filter with no presets. What do we do? It's really quite simple (easy for me to say now that I know exactly how to do it *grin*) and I would like you to follow these easy instructions. Open a graphic or a new image in PSP. Go to Effects-->Sinedots-->Dragonfly-->SinedotsII. You will then get your starter screen.
To create a new settings file do the following: Play around with your sliders, etc. and create something that you
like. Press Open As Philipp states in his Read Me file ~ "You can open the settings files in a text editor and see their structure. If you mess around with them keep in mind that a settings file will NOT be recognized unless the first line reads: 'FileOwner SinedotsII If you would like to share your new file with someone else just send it to them via e-mail or on your site as a download. Do you have a .cfg file from someone else and would like to see what they have done with the Sinedots? Here is what you do. When you get the file from someone else, make sure that it is saved as a .cfg and put it in your Sinedots folder. I do this so everything is right there available for me. Click open and this is the screen that I get:
Click on the file that you want to see and press open. Now you can see all of the settings in that particular file. Remember if you play around with the settings and save, it will save to that file! Another hint that I have received from Cathy. If you have several settings in different files you can copy and paste them into one file and then name that file. For example if you have several ribbons settings, copy and paste them all into one file and name that file ribbons.cfg. REMEMBER to have 'FileOwner SinedotsII' on the very first line or it will not be recognized. I hope this helps all of you out with your presets.
