The Sinedot Plug-in Filter was designed by Phillip-Spoeth of Aachen/Germany. I, as well as many others, have fallen in love with this filter and see so many possibilities. This is the second tutorial I have written using this filter and there will more to come.
This tutorial is written in and for PSP Version 7 and assumes you have a working knowledge of PSP at an intermediate level. I am sure this can easily be done in Version 6 with a few adjustments in paths but I have only used Version 7 so I can't make promises *S*
You will need:
JASC's PSP (30 day free trial)- You can get it HERE
DragonFly's Sinedot Filter - You can get it HERE
**Unzip to your plugin folder
A Tube of your choice ~~ You may use Moon's Designs Trapped Soul tube ~~
You can get it HERE or
if you prefer you can make your own trapped soul by going to Anthony's tutorial
HERE
**Unzip and export into your tube folder
Step 1:
Open a new image 250 x 250, 16 million colors, transparent background. Don't
make a new layer yet, first flood Layer 1 with a color of your choice. I used
#9D8CB4
Step 2:
Add a new layer and flood fill with a contrasting color. I used #CF6A7A.
Step 3:
Go to Effects --> Plugins-->DragonFly-->Sinedot and use the following
settings:
Make sure Inverse is NOT checked! That's how you get the white to show, otherwise it will be black. For those who might have a problem reading the settings in the picture they are as follows: 1st Dimension from left to right are 1.47; -4.97; -1.75; -0.35. 2nd Dimension are 0.76; 0.77; -3.43; 4.55. Balance X is 0.6 Balance Y is 0.25 and Density is 0.81.
Step 4:
After adding the Sinedot filter I reduced the opacity of layer 2 to 57. See
how nice the 2 colors blend in together?
Step 5:
Add a new layer and add your MD-Trapped Soul tube or if you made your own
Trapped Soul then add that one. I set the scale to 90 before adding it. Using
your move tool place your trapped soul where you would like it.
Step 6:
Now we will add an inner bevel and the best part is we don't have to select
or float, just make sure you are on Layer 3. Layer 3 is where your Trapped
Soul tube should be. Go to Effects-->3D-->Inner Bevel and use the following
settings.
Step 7:
Now reduce the opacity of Layer 3 to your liking. We want our trapped soul
to have the effect that it is trapped in the filter *S* I set mine to 61.
Step 8:
Now we are going to add a Sinedot frame to our Trapped Soul. Go to Layers
--> Merge --> Merge All Flatten. Make your contrasting color (remember
mine was CF6A7A) as the background color.
Step 9:
Go to Image -->add borders Make sure symmetric is checked and enter 15
for the border size Click OK Take your magic wand (tolerance and feather
set at 0) and select the colored border -- you will get marching ants around
the border.
Step 10:
Go to Effects --> Plugins-->DragonFly-->Sinedot. In the drop down
menu there is a list of presets. Click on the Contrast preset and UNcheck
the Invertbox. Click OK. DO NOT DESELECT YET. If you don't have the Contrast
Preset here are the settings:

Step 11:
Go to Effects -->3D-->Inner Bevel and apply the following settings:

Voila! We're done! Here is another one that I made using a different tube using my Mask/Frame tutorial without doing the Mask part. Be creative! I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

I hope that you enjoyed this tutorial as much as I enjoyed making it for you. Many thanks to Elkay, Anneli, and Randie for testing this tutorial.
